Bee Happy Consignment – Important Updates beginning Spring 2026
At Bee Happy Consignment, we’ve spent a long time thoughtfully evaluating how to best balance quality, efficiency, and the incredible growth of our sales. As our consignor base expands and our sell-through rates continue to set new industry standards, we want to ensure our processes remain fair, smooth, and sustainable for everyone.
We’ve looked closely at item limits, pickup timelines, and how to encourage meaningful contributions to the community. It’s always a fine line: we want consignors with amazing items to bring them, but low sell-through rate accounts create considerable added work during both check-in and pickup.
To help maintain the quality of our sales and support a smoother experience for everyone, beginning with our Spring 2026 sales, we will be implementing the following updates:
⸻
1. Low Sell-Through Sorting Charge
To help offset the added time required to sort a large number of unsold items, a $20 sorting charge will be applied for consignors whose sell-through rate falls below 45% and who choose to pick up their unsold items.
This will be automatically applied to the final commission check and will be included in the contract signed at drop-off.Our goal is to incentivize consignors to price items competitively — increasing sell-through rates, boosting your commission, and, if you choose to donate at the end, extending that impact to local families in need.
Nothing changes for consignors who consistently have high sell-through rates OR for those who choose to donate everything at the end.
⸻
2. No-Show Pickup Charge
A $20 no-show pickup charge will be applied for consignors who select “pickup,” have their items fully sorted by our team, and then do not return at pickup time.
No-shows result in significant additional labor, and often by the time we realize the consignor isn’t coming for their items, donation trucks have already departed — requiring extra trips to donation centers after the sale has ended. If you are unsure whether you can return, we strongly encourage choosing “donate” on your tags!
⸻
3. Supporting Community Impact
We want to recognize consignors who choose to pay-it-forward by donating their remaining items to local families and organizations. These donations directly support children, schools, shelters, and families in Central PA, and they make a tremendous difference every single sale.
⸻
Why These Changes Matter
We currently have over 220 families on the waitlist for State College, and our April 2026 Bloomsburg sale is nearly full. By pricing thoughtfully, choosing pickup only when certain, and donating when possible, our consignors help make room for more families to participate in our rapidly growing events.
For the hundreds of you who already price competitively, consistently sell most of what you bring, or donate all at the end — nothing changes for you.
We deeply appreciate your continued commitment to quality, community, and kindness. These updates help us maintain the efficiency, organization, and high standards that make Bee Happy Consignment what it is today.
